Refrections あとがき（2023/8/10)
7月5日〜10日、北海道にゆかりのある若手作家を応援する公募展「いいめふくらめ in sapporo」に参加しました。100名のエントリーからファイナリストとして選んでいただき、23名のアーティストとともに、大丸札幌店にて展示・販売を行いました。
July 5-10, Nashy entered the "Iime Fukurame" competition, an initiative to support young Hokkaido artists. I was selected as one of 24 finalists to exhibit and sell my works at the Daimaru department store at Sapporo Station.
その結果、11枚の作品が素敵なオーナー様の元へと旅立ちました。これは思いもよらないサプライズでした。さらに3名枠の「優秀賞」を受賞し、来年また札幌にて3人展を行うことが決定しました。これまたびっくりです。
In total, 11 of my prints found new loving homes, more than I could have ever imagined! What's more, Nashy was one of three finalists selected to exhibit in the main Daimaru gallery next year.
百貨店という場所で人の前に立ち販売をするという行為は、私にとって簡単なものでは決してなく、公に裸をさらすような挑戦でした。在廊した2日間で、何回もお客様とのコミュニケーションに失敗しました。でも、それ以上に多くのご縁に恵まれました。
Standing in front of my works at a department store and selling them was a huge challenge for me, and an experience that left me feeling completely naked. Countless times I messed up the communication with potential customers, but more importantly I was able to make real connections with some amazing people.
お客様の中に「アートを買うのは初めて」といった方も結構いらっしゃいました。とても嬉しいことであるとともに、一種の責任が芽生えました。"これまで絵を買ってくださった方の作品の価値を上げていけるように、精進・恩返ししていかなくては......！"
I was thrilled to learn that several of my customers had never purchased art before. It also filled me with a sense of responsibility to make sure the paper they bought is worth something in the future, to repay them for their early support and trust.
でも、もしかしたらやることは至ってシンプルなのかもしれません。私の原点に立ち返り「絵で人をハッピーにしたり、激動の時代の中、肩の力を抜いてもらったり」してもらえるよう、これからも楽しみながら試行錯誤し、制作を続けていくことなのかなと思っています。
Through this experience, I've realised that what I need to do is simple. Returning to my core motivation - of making people happy with my art and providing some relief and space to relax in these turbulent times - I just need to keep creating, working hard and enjoy the process.

ヤングアーティスト公募展「いい芽ふくら芽 in SAPPORO 2023」
“可能性が開花することを美術ファンと共に応援すべく2018年よりスタートした、ヤングアーティスト公募展「いい芽ふくら芽」。本展では、北海道在住及びゆかりのある40歳未満の作家たちを対象に募集、約100名のエントリーから24名の作家が入選いたしました。各賞の最終審査と同時に販売も行い、皆さまの投票で決定するオーディエンス賞もございます。パワーと可能性溢れる作品の数々をぜひお楽しみください。
